Pale yellow-green in colour with silver reflections, this Grüner Veltliner is complex with notes of yellow apple, orange zest, mango and tobacco nuances. The clean acidity and salty minerality adds great length to the wine and a lovely savouriness on the finish.
Located at 230-300 metres above sea level on the eastern side of the Wachau between Loibenberg and Pfaffenberg, this small cleft in the valley has deep, weathered gneiss soils. The site is characterised by its proximity to the nearby forest, where nocturnal northerly breezes cool the vineyard as they pass through on their current towards the Danube. The fruit from this slow ripening, single-vineyard site makes rich wines with racy acidity and finesse that age very well.
