Aligote is often overlooked but Jean-Christophe Perraud shows this historic and important grape variety at its finest. Taken only from vineyards with “Silex” soil, the Aligote is given a wild fermentation to accentuate its stone fruit and flinty character.
It comes from Jean-Christophe's own vineyards in Mâcon, in the communes of La Roche Vineuse, Verzé and Salornay sur Guy. Aligoté thrives on these silex (flint) or chalk soils and makes expressive, aromatic wines with excellent minerality.
